Parking, traffic lanes the latest changes at new Triway campus site – Wooster Daily Record

Triway Local Schools Board of Education

Monday, Sept. 19 meeting

KEY ACTION As of Thursday, the public can log on and get a first look at what the campus layout and the new pre-k through 12th-grade building will look like with an animated aerial view of the building exterior provided by the district architect, GPD.

DISCUSSION The view of the new building, which can be accessed at www.onetriway.com where a site photograph also is available, is in draft form. The exterior features of the building are not yet finalized.

The last two weeks have encompassed dramatic changes on the campus of Triway High School and Junior High, where the new building will be located.

Superintendent Nate Schindewolf, said the board discussed a summary of the new parking and traffic lanes established as construction has progressed. The former entrance to the campus is now the construction entrance.

“We have a brand-new parking lot and a brand-new entrance facing state Route 226,” Schindewolf said.

The old parking lot has been removed and dirt is being filled in for the future site of the building. Construction fences have been placed.

The former middle school parking lot near the football field has been striped for traffic flow to pick up and drop off students. Two loops have been implemented, one for the middle school on the west side of campus and one for the high school on the east side.

“I’m real pleased with how the first two weeks (of traffic flow) have gone,” Schindewolf said. “We’ve had a lot of personnel out there and new signage.” Traffic has actually been streamlined, he said, and the district has received positive comments.

The district will be providing drone footage of the site, assisted by staff member Brad Mickna. The drone will be flying almost daily, Schindewolf said.
